2026 S.T.E.A.M. Scholarship Recipient
Meet Jordan E. Green
Black Girls Go Global is proud to announce Jordan E. Green as the 2026 recipient of the Black Girls Go Global S.T.E.A.M. Scholarship. Jordan exemplifies the spirit of leadership, resilience, academic excellence, and service that this scholarship was created to celebrate.
A sophomore biology major at Morgan State University, Jordan is pursuing her dream of becoming an anesthesiologist and health advocate dedicated to addressing healthcare disparities in underserved Black communities. Inspired by her experiences as a caregiver for her father, who lives with multiple sclerosis, Jordan developed a deep passion for compassionate healthcare and serving others at an early age.
Jordan also draws inspiration from her great-grandmother, Amanda Smith, who partnered with Vivien Thomas in research related to blue baby syndrome. Carrying forward that legacy of perseverance and innovation, Jordan is determined to break barriers in S.T.E.A.M. and create meaningful change through medicine and community advocacy.
Throughout her academic journey, Jordan has demonstrated extraordinary resilience and determination. After overcoming financial hardships that required her to transfer universities, she continued to excel academically while participating in outreach programs, leadership opportunities, research projects, and community initiatives that reflect her commitment to equity and service.
Jordan credits her experiences with Black Girls Go Global and the MERIT Health Leadership Academy for expanding her worldview and strengthening her passion for health equity. During her educational experiences in Costa Rica, Jordan explored innovative solutions to food insecurity and community health challenges, inspiring her vision to bring sustainable, community-centered initiatives back to her hometown of Baltimore.
In addition to her academic ambitions, Jordan dreams of opening or partnering with clinics that provide accessible healthcare, education, and resources for families navigating chronic illness. She also hopes to mentor the next generation of Black doctors and healthcare professionals.
Jordan is a brilliant scholar, dedicated leader, and youth activist whose integrity, compassion, and vision for the future make her truly exceptional. She inspires those around her to lead with purpose and service.
