During the 2023 Black Girls Go Global S.T.E.A.M. educational program, participants engaged in a self-care session of Hatha yoga — practicing asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises) to promote mental and physical well-being, while preparing the body for deeper mindfulness and meditation practices.

They learned Costa Rica’s best practices in sustainable agriculture — and for one participant, I'ara Marks (in blue bandana), the experience was so inspiring, she left with a newfound dream of owning her own farm and growing her own organic food.
